Our own team in Brazil handling packing, documentation and shipment, and accredited agents from our international network executing customs clearance and delivery in Sweden — with oversight by our team at every stage.
The Swedish flyttsakstullfrihet customs duty relief follows Regulation (EC) No. 1186/2009 and is declared on form Tv 740.44 of the Tullverket. It requires that you have resided outside the European Union for at least 1 year and that the goods have been owned and used for at least 6 months. There is also the restriction of not transferring the goods for 12 months after release. We assemble the residence dossier and date the inventory during packing, because this proof is what separates the relief from the Swedish VAT of 25%.
We handle the export documentation in Brazil and monitor the clearance with Tullverket via the port of Gothenburg, including assembling the dossier of prior residence and the notification to Skatteverket. You do not need to worry about bureaucracy — we take care of everything.
We deliver your move in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, Uppsala, Linköping, Lund and other regions, including the north of the country. From your address in Brazil to the door of your new home in Sweden, with unpacking and furniture assembly.
We pack your belongings with high-quality materials and professional techniques. Furniture, electronics, works of art — all protected with the utmost care.
Your move travels protected with international insurance that covers the entire journey — from collection in Brazil to delivery in Sweden.
We carry out the pre-move survey of your belongings by video call, without the need for an in-person visit. Practical, fast and without obligation.

Estimated door-to-door transit times, subject to the shipping line's or airline's schedule. They include collection, packing, customs clearance at origin and destination, and final delivery. The transit time for your move is confirmed in the quote after the service and route are defined.
Customs framework for the route: we conduct the route using form Tv 740.44 of the Tullverket, the proof of possession of the goods for 6 months and the proof of residence outside the European Union for 12 months.
The times above are door-to-door and include collection and packing at the origin residence, cargo consolidation, waiting for the ship’s departure window, the crossing, customs clearance at both ends and final delivery with furniture assembly. We publish it this way because it is the timeframe you actually experience. Port-to-port times published by carriers may seem shorter because they only cover sailing time, without customs, collection or delivery.
What the Swedish and Brazilian customs require, with the name of each document and the responsible agency.
Receita Federal do Brasil
Export registration of unaccompanied baggage, conducted by our in-house team in Brazil, with issuance of the bill of lading in the name of the owner. One Moving hires and coordinates the customs broker and oversees the release from end to end, for your convenience.
Complete list of goods, volume by volume, with description and estimated value. It is the document that instructs the Swedish import declaration, and in it items excluded from the customs duty relief must be highlighted from origin. All preparation is carried out by our team during packing and managed by One Moving, for your convenience.
The Swedish customs duty relief requires that the goods have belonged to and been used by you or by someone in your family group for at least 6 months before departure for Sweden. We record this information in the inventory, because it is one of the two central requirements of the regime.
Tullverket — Swedish Customs Authority
The Swedish customs duty relief is requested via the official form Tv 740.44, the Försäkran för flyttsakstullfrihet för inflyttare. It instructs the import declaration submitted when the goods arrive at the border. The completion and filing are managed by One Moving, with support from our accredited agent, for your convenience.
It is necessary to have had normal residence outside the European Union for a continuous period of at least 12 months. We gather with you the documents that demonstrate this period, because it is the entry requirement of the regime.
Anyone who has never been resident in Sweden must present proof of uppehållstillstånd, the residence permit, or of uppehållsrätt, the right of residence. Those who previously resided and were not registered during their stay abroad must submit a notification of move to Skatteverket, the Swedish Tax Agency. We identify which case applies in the initial assessment and advise on the required measures, managing them through One Moving for your convenience.
The customs duty relief must be requested on the import declaration submitted when the goods arrive at the Swedish border. It is not a subsequent application. One Moving hires and coordinates the customs broker and oversees the customs clearance end to end, for your convenience.
Alcoholic beverages and tobacco cannot be included in the customs duty relief for household goods and personal effects and must be declared separately and are subject to taxation. We identify these items in the inventory before shipment, because correct declaration at origin prevents container detention. This screening is managed by One Moving, for your convenience.
Swedish customs explicitly prohibit the inclusion of alcohol and tobacco in the household goods customs duty relief. It is the most common mistake of Brazilians moving to Sweden, because it seems natural to take some bottles of cachaça or a reserve of wines. The result is heavy taxation, fines or even container detention if the items are not declared separately. We review the inventory with this filter before shipment.
Sweden requires two cumulative conditions. The goods must have belonged to and been used by you, or by someone in your family group, for at least 6 months before departure. And you must have had normal residence outside the European Union for a continuous period of at least 1 year. Both must be documented before shipment.
During the first year after the exemption is granted, the goods may not be sold, rented, lent, donated or pledged. The rule is literal and Tullverket makes no exceptions. If this occurs, you must notify customs and pay the taxes due. Consider this when deciding what to bring: furniture you already plan to replace on arrival will be subject to this restriction.
This is the most distinctive particularity of Sweden. While several countries summarily reject financed or leased vehicles, Tullverket accepts the exemption for a leased car, provided the contract is strictly in the name of the private individual who is moving, and not in the name of a company or employer, and demonstrates private use for at least 6 months in the country of origin. Owned vehicles follow the same standard of 6 months' ownership and use, may not be disposed of for 12 months after import, and after entry may be driven for only 1 week before requiring temporary registration or a registration inspection.
You have 12 months to bring the goods, counted from the day you arrive in Sweden to establish residence. If you prefer to ship the cargo before your arrival, which is possible up to 6 months in advance, you will need to submit a declaration of intent to move and provide a guarantee to cover the duties. It is a viable option but involves an additional requirement that must be included in the planning.
Sweden operates on 230 V, with Type C and F sockets. For those leaving Brazilian regions on 127 V, motorized appliances such as washers and dryers do not operate properly with simple adapters. We assess item by item in the inventory, because often it is not worth paying freight for equipment that will not power on in the new home.

Both modalities serve the Brazil–Sweden route. The choice depends on volume, urgency and the value of the goods.
Ideal for complete moves with large volume. Best cost-effectiveness to transport furniture, appliances and all your belongings.
For those who need speed. Perfect for smaller volumes, urgent items, or partial moves that cannot wait.
We know that moving country is an important decision. That is why we take care of all the logistics of your move so you can focus on what really matters: your new life in Sweden.
Our team accompanies every step of the process, ensuring safety, organization and predictability.
The most frequent doubts on the route, answered based on the official rule.
By sea transport, the transit time is 45 to 65 days, and by air, 15 to 30 days. These times are door-to-door: they include collection and packing at your residence in Brazil, cargo consolidation, waiting for the vessel's departure window, the crossing, customs clearance at both ends and final delivery in Sweden with furniture assembly. They should not be compared with port-to-port times published by shipping lines, which cover only the sailing time.
If you had your normal residence outside the European Union for a continuous period of at least 12 months and the goods belonged to and were used by you, or by someone in your family group, for at least 6 months prior to departure, the move is exempt from customs duties and VAT. The basis is Regulation (EC) No 1186/2009, as applied by the guidelines of Tullverket. Alcohol and tobacco are excluded from the exemption.
It is the official declaration of exemption for household goods of the Tullverket, the Försäkran för flyttsakstullfrihet för inflyttare. It instructs the import declaration submitted when the goods arrive at the Swedish border. We complete and file this form, with the support of the local accredited agent, so that you do not need to deal with the Swedish customs procedure.
Not within the relief. Swedish customs explicitly prohibit the inclusion of alcohol and tobacco in the household goods customs duty relief. These items must be declared separately and are taxed, except for small traveller allowances. This is the most expensive and most common mistake of Brazilians on this route, because improper inclusion can lead to heavy taxation, fines or container detention. We review the inventory with this filter before shipment.
Not during the first 12 months after the exemption is granted. During that period, the goods may not be sold, rented, lent, donated or pledged, and Tullverket makes no exceptions. If you do so, you must notify customs and pay the taxes due. Take this restriction into account when deciding what to ship.
You have 12 months to bring the goods, counted from the day you arrive in Sweden to establish yourself. It is a generous window. If you prefer to send the cargo before your arrival, which is possible up to 6 months before, it will be necessary to present a declaration of intent to move and provide a guarantee to cover the taxes. We structure the schedule according to the alternative most convenient for you.
Yes, private vehicles can qualify for the moving exemption, provided they belonged to and were used by you for at least 6 months before the move. Sweden is unusual in this respect: it even accepts leased cars, if the contract is strictly in the name of the private individual moving (not a company or employer) and proves private use for 6 months. There is no numerical limit on vehicles, but Tullverket assesses whether there is any commercial intent. The vehicle cannot be disposed of for 12 months after import and, after entry, may be driven for only 1 week before requiring temporary registration or a registration inspection.
It depends on your background. Those who have never resided in Sweden must present proof of uppehållstillstånd, the residence permit, or of uppehållsrätt, the right of residence. Those who have previously resided and were not registered during their stay abroad must present a notification of move to Skatteverket. In addition, the regime presumes the intention to reside in Sweden for at least 1 year. We identify which is your case in the initial assessment.
Yes. Dogs and cats coming from Brazil, a country whose rabies situation is not considered to be under control by the European Union, require an ISO-standard microchip implanted before vaccination, a valid rabies vaccination administered from 12 weeks of age and a rabies antibody titration test performed at least 30 days after vaccination. The official health certificate can only be issued 90 days after the blood sampling for the test, which makes the protocol lengthy. There is no official requirement for treatment against Echinococcus multilocularis to enter Sweden, although it is recommended. The animal must be declared to customs on arrival. Preparation starts months before the flight, conducted by our pet department. We have already transported more than 1,000 animals.
In Brazil, collection, packing and export documentation are conducted by One Moving's own team. In Sweden, the form Tv 740.44, the import declaration to Tullverket, the final delivery and assembly are carried out by accredited agents of our international network, under supervision of our team. The screening of alcohol and tobacco, which is the typical bottleneck on this route, takes place here in Brazil before shipment.
